Evidence suggest that James dies in kortright in 1812:
A just and true account of the disposition of the goods chattels and credits and personal estate of James Finlay late of the town of Kortright in the County of Delaware deceased and of the debts due and owing by the said James Finlay at the time of his death as far as the same have been discovered by Anna Finlay, George Finlay & Ebenezer Rowland Administrators of the said deceased to wit
